The Egyptian Journal of Physics (EJP) is a peer-reviewed journal, first appeared in 1970 and is published annually by the Academy of Scientific Research & Technology, the National  Information & Documentation Center (NIDOC), Dokki, Cairo, Egypt. The Egypt. J. Physics is edited by the Egyptian Physical Society and it welcomes original articles & reviews covering all disciplines of physics, showing the latest developments and achievements in all branches of physics.

Classes of manuscripts

The editorial office will consider for publication manuscripts which describe original work that was not previously published and, if accepted, the work must not be published in any other journal unless permission is obtained from the editorial office of this journal.

Three classes of manuscripts are recognized:

a)      Articles that  give a concise account of the author's work in one of the fields of physics. They should be addressed to specialists with the intention of increasing their knowledge in the field of the research. The authors are required to give a brief abstract of their articles not exceeding 250 words stating the objective of the work and its important results. Authors of whom Arabic is the native language are required to submit an abstract written in Arabic. For other authors, their abstracts will be translated into Arabic as well.

b)      Notes that  are abbreviated in the article. No summary is needed for the notes.

c)      Letters to the educational secretary that  are intended to be preliminary publications of results and that  are believed to justify prompt publication

General instructions

1-      Authors must submit manuscripts through the Journal website by clicking ------------------- . All pages, including tables and illustrations should be consecutively numbered.

2-      Text (including tables) should be provided in Microsoft Word 2007 format (.doc).  Text prepared in manuscript.textfiles are acceptable. All tables and equations should be in a workable format that can be physically manipulated. Tables and equations must not be submitted in .gif, .jpg, or other picture formats (neither within the manuscript nor as separate files).

3-      Spelling should be consistent throughout the paper and according to the Oxford dictionary.

4-      Authors should arrange their text along the following headings:
abstract, introduction, experimental, results, discussions and references.

References: should be listed according to their appearance in the text, numbered consecutively and typed after the text. They must include the initials of the authors and be arranged and punctuated as follows:

1-      Lawrence, D.F. and Neale, F.E., proc. Phys . Soc., London, 85, 1251 (1965)
references to books must include the name of author, title , publisher,  page and data of publication as follows:

2-      Nye , J.F. "physical properties of crystals". Claredon press, oxford , p.56(1960)

Abbreviations:The names of periodicals should be abbreviated according to the most recent list of periodicals abstracted by the "physics abstracts". For economy, abbreviations rather than words should be used, and in accordance with "symbols, units and nomenclature in physics" published by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics

Tables:Tables should appear in the manuscript as near as possible to the place where they are referred to in the text. They should not be used indiscriminately as they are more expensive than running text.

Proofs:Proofs should be checked by the author against the manuscript. It is undesirable to make any change in the original text.

Reprints:Authors are entitled to a  pdf copy from the journal site.

are required forall manuscripts. The Abstract should be self-contained (contain

nofootnotes or citations to references). It should be adequate as an index (giving

allsubjects, major and minor, about which  newinformationis given), and as a

summary (giving the conclusions and all results of general interest  in the article).

It should be approximately 250 words. The abstract should be written as one

paragraph and shouldnot contain displayed mathematical equations or tabular

material. In thissample article we provideinstructions on how to prepare your
